Central Office Roundabout Review Committee

Duties

• Review submitted plans for proposed roundabouts and recommend concurrence to the state location and design engineer if all requirements are met
  
  
 
• Promote and educate Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) personnel, localities and the public of the many benefits of modern roundabouts
  
  
 
• Assist those seeking advise on roundabouts

Statewide Roundabout Advisory Committee

Duties

• Assists the Central Office roundabout committee with reviewing proposed roundabout locations
  
  
 
• Provides proactive guidance and assistance to designers / planners working on roundabout projects as hands-on technical experts
  
  
 
• Troubleshoots operations by field review of roundabouts under construction and newly opened roundabouts
  
  
 
• Offers presentations, upon request, in each district to provide information to internaland external cutomers on operational and safety benefits of roundabouts
  
  
 
• Provides input on behalf of the district for any roundabout-related matters
  
  
  
• Reviews scoping reports at the district level for any projects involving intersection design
