Commonwealth Transportation Board approves 16 contracts worth $10.6 million for projects in southwestern Virginia
BRISTOL, Va. – Virginia’s Transportation Board approved 16 contracts today valued at $10.6 million for projects in southwestern Virginia.Twelve contracts for paving at various locations throughout the Bristol transportation district were awarded:
-W-L Construction & Paving, Inc., Chilhowie, received five contracts valued at approximately $4.1 million.
-Maymead, Inc., Mountain City, received three contracts valued at approximately $3.4 million.
-Floyd Asphalt Paving, Co., Bluefield, Va., received two contracts valued at $1.5 million.
-Mac Construction & Paving, Inc., Oakwood, received a $514,395 contract.
-APAC-Virginia, Inc., Danville, received a $426,903 contract.
VMS, Inc., Richmond, received a $260,380 contract to provide traffic control for bridge
safety inspections at various locations on Interstates 81 and 77 in southwestern Virginia.
A $198,105 contract was awarded to Elderlee, Inc., York, Pa., to furnish and install guardrail at various locations on Interstates 77 and 81 in southwestern Virginia.
Hunter Paving, Inc., St. Paul, received a $148,208 contract to widen and pave Route 604 – Moll’s Creek Road in Russell County, beginning a half-mile north of Route 605 and extending northward just over a half-mile.
Lastly, Patrick Construction, Inc., St. Paul, received a $105, 072 contract to construct a Park and Ride Facility on Route 16 at the intersection of Routes 16 and 19/460 in Tazewell County. This project will also improve drainage in this area.
