Surplus state equipment sale scheduled for July 9
BRISTOL, Va. - The Commonwealth of Virginia will offer over 150 pieces of surplus state equipment for sale at an auction on Wednesday, July 9, at the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Bristol district office.The gates to the auction area will open at 7 a.m., and the bidding will begin at
9 a.m. The VDOT facility is located at 870 Bonham Road, approximately one mile south of Interstate 81 - Exit 7 in Bristol, Virginia.
Included in the variety of items to be sold are: pick-up trucks, dump trucks, motor graders, snow plows, chemical spreaders and other equipment from VDOT and other state agencies in southwest Virginia. The condition of the equipment varies from "good," "fair," to "poor."
The equipment is being sold because the items have been fully depreciated and met their anticipated payback life cycle. Prospective buyers may view the equipment on Tuesday, July 8, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the VDOT district office. All sales require payment in full on the day of the sale.
