Slick roadways reported in areas of southwestern Virginia (Tuesday, December 9, 2005 - 4 a.m.)

BRISTOL, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reports motorists may encounter slick travel conditions this morning in areas of southwestern Virginia:

- Be alert to icy spots on Interstate 81 in Wythe County.

- Icy patches are reported along the entire Interstate77 corridor in Virginia.

- In Grayson County, snow and ice-covered sections of roadway are reported on Route 58 between Independence and Galax, Routes 89 and 94, and the majority of secondary routes.

- Slush and ice-covered sections of roadway are reported on the majority of primary and secondary routes in Wythe and Bland counties.

- Icy spots are reported on Routes 16, 19, 61, 91 and the majority of secondary routes in Tazewell County.
