VDOT ROAD CONDITION REPORT:
Monday, January 29, 2007 – 4 a.m.
Bristol, VA – The Virginia Department of Transportation reports motorists should be alert to slick spots on area roadways in southwestern Virginia this morning:
• Interstate 81 is clear between Bristol and the Wythe/Pulaski County line.
• I-77 is clear along the entire corridor in Virginia.
• Major four-lane corridors:
• Snow-covered sections of roadway are reported for Route 19 in Tazewell County this morning. Route 19 between Russell County and Abingdon has snow and ice patches.
• Routes 23, 58, Alternate 58 and 460 have scattered snow and ice patches this morning.
County conditions:
• The majority of primary roadways throughout southwestern Virginia have scattered snow and ice patches. Secondary routes in the region are snow-covered, slick and hazardous.
• Bland County: the majority of primary and secondary routes are snow-covered, slick and hazardous.
