Location and Design Public Hearing: Coalfields Expressway - Hawk's Nest section in Buchanan County
Tuesday, May 13 between 4 and 7 p.m. at Russell Prater Elementary School
The purpose of this hearing is to give citizens an opportunity to review and discuss preliminary plans for the proposed Hawk’s Nest section of Route 121, located between the proposed Virginia Route 460 Connector and Route 614.
VDOT encourages all interested citizens to attend the public hearing. To give citizens more flexibility in their participation in the hearing, there will be no formal presentation. Instead, citizens will be able to review maps, drawings and other materials explaining the proposed project and discuss the plans, tentative construction schedules, property impacts and relocation assistance with VDOT representatives at their convenience anytime between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Also, citizens will have an opportunity to record verbal comments for the official record anytime during the hearing. Written comments will be accepted during the hearing or may be submitted to VDOT by May 23, 2008.
Maps and other materials pertaining to the project are available for review at the VDOT Lebanon Residency Office, located on Route 71 in Lebanon. The materials are also available at the VDOT Bristol District Office, 870 Bonham Road, Bristol, Virginia.
