Slick travel conditions reported in southwestern Virginia
Thursday, January 17 at 7 a.m.

 

BRISTOL, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) reports snow-covered conditions on area roadways in southwestern Virginia this morning: 

 

-          Interstates 77 and 81 are snow-covered and slick. 

 

-          Snow-covered and slick conditions are reported for the majority of routes throughout southwestern Virginia, including Wise, Dickenson, Bland, Tazewell, Lee, Scott, Wythe, Grayson, Washington and Smyth counties.

 

-          Primary routes in Buchanan and Russell counties have snow and ice patches, however, secondary routes in these counties are snow-covered and slick.
