VDOT TO PATROL I-64 DURING THE HOLIDAYS
Crews from the Virginia Department of Transportation will be patrolling Interstate 64 at various times during the holidays to check for debris on travel lanes and assist motorists if needed.
In Albemarle County, the service patrol will be on duty between the hours of 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Christmas Eve and on Sunday, December 26, and again on New Year’s Eve and on Sunday, January 2.
In Louisa County, the interstate will be patrolled every day during the holiday season between the hours of 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.
Most road construction and maintenance activities will be suspended beginning at 6 a.m. on Christmas Eve until 6 a.m. December 27 and from 6 a.m. on Dec. 31 until 6 a.m. Jan. 3.
Motorists should remain alert, however, for signs advising them of construction zones set up for ongoing projects.
