VDOT INCREASES SPEED LIMIT ON COOL SPRING ROAD (STAFFORD COUNTY

Fredericksburg – VDOT has posted the speed limit on Rt. 607 (Cool Spring Road) at 45 mph.

Since the widening of Route 607 from 2 to 4 lanes motorists have been traveling in excess of the posted 35 mph speed limit, prompting the Traffic Engineering Department to conduct a speed study. As a result it was recommended that the speed limit be increased to 45 mph to be conducive with the new 4 lane divided highway with curb and gutter design.

The 45 mph speed limit is effective immediately on Rt. 607 between Rt. 3 and Route 218. Route 607 (Deacon Rd.) will remain posted at 35 mph.
