Beginning Monday, July 23 through Thursday, July 26 English Construction Co. will temporarily close Morton Road in Stafford County to thru traffic. This will allow crews to complete the construction of the new connection to the new Layhill/Primmer House Road intersection.
Motorists should use Eskimo Hill Road, Layhill Road/Forbes Street or Leeland Road as alternate routes to the VRE Commuter Lot, North Ridge and Hickory Ridge Developments. Weight restrictions will remain in effect on Route 1 at Layhill Road. Access will be provided to motorists that live in the work zone.
Signs will direct motorists through the detour routes.
