Area road conditions improve
(Motorists should use caution when traveling)

FREDERICKSBURG — Area road conditions have improved since early afternoon. The interstate, primary and secondary routes are reported as clear with wet pavement; however slushy conditions may exists on some of the subdivision streets. The freezing rain and sleet forecasted to continue throughout the evening may impact the evening rush hour and overnight travel plans. Motorists are encouraged to reduce their speeds and remember that bridges, overpasses and ramps freeze first. Early morning commuters should be alert to slick spots caused by refreezing. Crews will continue to treat area roads as needed throughout the night.

The following conditions exist in the Fredericksburg area which includes Caroline County:
· Interstate - Clear - wet pavement
· Primary and High volume secondary – clear – wet pavement (some roads may have slushy conditions or slick spots on the shoulders and turn lanes)
· Low volume secondary and subdivisions – clear to slushy conditions
