TEMPORARY LANE CLOSURE SCHEDULED FOR I-64 EASTBOUND
Concrete Repair Slated for Next Week

HAMPTON – The Virginia Department of Transportation will be temporarily closing two lanes on I-64 eastbound starting Monday morning (weather depending).

The two right lanes on I-64 eastbound between Exit 263 (Mercury Boulevard) and the entrance ramp from Mercury Boulevard northbound will close shortly after 9 a.m. Monday so crews can repair a section of damaged concrete. Once repairs have been made, the lane will remain closed for at least a week while the new concrete cures. There will still be three through lanes open to traffic to the left of the repair area. One lane will remain open to the right, allowing traffic entering from Mercury Boulevard to merge onto the interstate. All exit and entrance ramps will remain open to traffic during the repair operation.

The work is part of the Coliseum Central Highway Improvement Project. For general project information or to sign up to receive the latest project updates via email, please visit www.I64info.com.
