VDOT CLOSES PORTION OF ROUTE 460 IN SUFFOLK AND FREDERICK BOULEVARD IN PORTSMOUTH DUE TO FLOODING
SUFFOLK — Due to flooding, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) has closed Route 460 in both directions at Pruden Road in Suffolk. Additionally, the exit ramps from Interstate 264 west to Frederick Boulevard in Portsmouth have been temporarily closed due to flooding. Motorists should seek alternate routes.VDOT will reopen these two road as soon as the water recedes and the road is safe for travel. There is currently no estimate for when the road will reopen.
Motorists should watch for signs warning of high water, and avoid driving through standing water.
Motorists can call 511 for up-to-date information about closed roads throughout Hampton Roads, or they can log-on to the road condition map on VDOT’s web site, www.VirginiaDOT.org.
