VDOT TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE I-64 WEST FROM 464 INTERCHANGE TO BATTLEFIELD BOULEVARD
Closure Will Allow Contractors to Continue Installation of Water Line
Chesapeake – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and contractor E.V. Williams will close approximately one mile of I-64 west from the 464 Interchange to the Battlefield Boulevard Interchange to complete work they began on Tuesday, November 28th. The road closure will take place on Saturday, December 2nd from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Contractors will continue to install a water line under I-64 during the closure. I-64 traffic will detour at exit 291B onto Military Highway north and get back onto I-64 via Battlefield Boulevard.
This work is part of the I-64 Battlefield Boulevard construction project on schedule to be completed in July 2009. Motorists can also call 511 or listen to 610AM for up-to-date traffic reports.
