Route 610 Bridge to be closed for construction
Motorists will need to use other routes when Route 610, Puppy Creek Road, is closed temporarily for the replacement of the bridge over the Buffalo River in Amherst County.
Work on the bridge, which is located 0.10 miles south of Route 60 and 2.20 miles north of Route 717, will begin on Monday, March 24 is expected to be complete in late April. However, from April 21 through 25, the road will be closed to all traffic at the bridge to complete the project. Alternate routes are available to motorists.
VDOT is working with the Amherst County School’s Supervisor of School Transportation to address changes to school bus routes. For information about bus transportation, contact Randy Tschetter at 434-946-9707.
