VDOT Begins Safety Improvements at Rolling and Fullerton Roads This Spring

The Commonwealth Transportation Board today awarded a $966,235 contract for safety improvements at the intersection of Rolling and Fullerton Roads and Edinburgh Drive in Springfield according to the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Work will begin in April.

The project realigns the existing intersection, adds additional turn lanes and opens the connection with Fullerton Road. This improvement will increase intersection capacity and relieve the additional congestion created by the current Springfield Interchange construction.

When construction is completed in the fall, motorists will be able to use Fullerton Road through the Industrial Park. Rolling Road will remain one lane in each direction.

New Construction, Inc. of Vienna is the contractor for the project.
