TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Two lanes Closed on I-95 North in Prince William County Dec. 4-5
Two of three northbound lanes on I-95 near the truck scales and the Route 234 interchange (Exit 152) in Prince William County will be closed from 7:00 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 4 to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Motorists are encouraged to use the two HOV lanes to avoid delays. The HOV lanes will run in the northbound direction and be open to all vehicles during the lane closure.
The closure is necessary for crews to install new weigh-in-motion scales at the Dumfries Weigh Station. VDOT and the Department of Motor Vehicles are installing the scales as part of a joint project to improve mobility in the I-95 corridor. Weigh-In-Motion scales will eliminate the need for many tractor-trailers to pull off the interstate to be weighed at traditional weight stations.
