VDOT Breaks Ground on University Boulevard
The Virginia Department of Transportation and Prince William County officials broke ground today for construction of University Boulevard, a 1.3-mile, four-lane road that will link Wellington Road and Route 29 near I-66 in Gainesville. The $11.3 million project will be completed by September 2006.
The new roadway will provide a much-needed alternate route to motorists heading to the Nissan Pavilion or Wellington Road via I-66 or Route 29. Route 29 in Gainesville carries 56,000 vehicles a day.
