Traffic Advisory:
90-Day Truck Restriction on Route 123 South at Beltway

What: VDOT will restrict truck traffic on Route 123 South in Tysons Corner at the Capital Beltway for bridge work.

When: Thursday, August 17 thru mid-November.

Who is Impacted: Trucks on northbound I-495 heading to points south of Tysons Corner on Route 123. Trucks will be instructed to use Route 7, Leesburg Pike, EXIT 47A instead of Route 123 South, EXIT 46A. Trucks traveling on Route 123 South will be detoured to I-495 North to Route 193 and re-enter I-495 South to Route 123 South.

Why: VDOT recently completed an in-depth inspection of the bridge over Route 123 South. The inspection revealed damage to several beams caused by oversized trucks. The bridge carrying traffic over Route 123 South has a clearance of less than 14 feet.
