TRAFFIC ADVISORY: I-66 WESTBOUND LANE CLOSURES

Motorists can expect major delays on westbound I-66 in Arlington for the next few weeks as the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) drills holes for retaining walls in the vicinity of Westmoreland Street, Exit 68.

I-66 westbound has two travel lanes and a merge lane in this area. One to two lanes will be closed weekdays between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. as follows:


Friday, January 4, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Single right lane and right shoulder closed.

Monday, January 7; 10 a.m to 12 p.m.
Two right lanes and right shoulder closed

Monday, January 7; 12 p.m. to 3 p.m..
Single right lane and right shoulder closed

Wednesday, January 9; 10 a.m to 1 p.m.
Two right lanes and right shoulder closed

Friday, January 11; 10 a.m to 1 p.m.
Two right lanes and right shoulder closed

Tuesday, January 15; 10 a.m to 1 p.m.
Two right lanes and right shoulder closed

Thursday, January 17; 10 a.m to 1 p.m.
Two right lanes and right shoulder closed

Wednesday, January 23; 10 a.m to 12 p.m.
Two right lanes and right shoulder closed

The work is part of the studies being undertaken for the proposed I-66 Spot Improvements project.
