ROAD CONDITION UPDATE Aug. 31, 11 A.M.
Richmond—The Virginia Department of Transportation urges all motorists to use caution when traveling around the Richmond area on Tuesday. VDOT crews have mobilized and are assessing road damage.
The following list is the best estimate of road closures as of 8:45 a.m. this morning. Additional changes to this list are expected. We will update this list later today.
I-95 in Richmond is open but there may be temporary lane or ramp closures as crews work to cleanup debris.
High Profile
The following closures are listed:
· Route 5 at Bickerstaff Road in Fulton Bottom
· Powhite Parkway-The road is closed at the $.50 toll plaza. Northbound traffic should exit at Chippenham Parkway.
· Chippenham Parkway-The road is closed southbound at Strathmore
· I-195 south one lane closed at Cary and Grove Exit
· I-95-The ramp to Franklin Street (Exit 74 B) is closed.
· Route 301 Hanover-The road is closed at the Kersey Creek Bridge due to a bridge washout. Through traffic is prohibited between I-295 and Route 54.
· I-295 Hanover-The ramp to Creighton Road is closed.
· I-195 Richmond-The road is closed southbound at Douglasdale Road.
