ROAD CONDITION UPDATE Sept. 8, 10:00 a.m.
RICHMOND—The Virginia Department of Transportation continues to work to open the remaining roads closed as a result of Tropical Storm Gaston. The following list is the best estimate of road closures as of 10:00 a.m. This will be the final road closure update as the majority of the roads that remain closed will be closed long term.
High Profile
The following closures are listed:
· Route 5 at Bickerstaff Road in Fulton Bottom due to a bridge washout
· Route 301 Hanover-The road is closed at the Kersey Creek Bridge due to a bridge washout. Through traffic is prohibited between I-295 and Route 54. The detour is Route 643 to Route 656 to Route 657 and back to Route 301.
· Huguenot Bridge is closed to northbound traffic. Southbound traffic may use the bridge.
· Route 30 closed between Route 610 and Route 608. Road has been washed out. No thru truck traffic allowed between Route 301 and Route 360.
Lunenburg
Route 694 between Routes 49 and 631
Route 647 between Route 648 and Route 637
Goochland
Route 647 between Route 650 and Route 6
Chesterfield
Hopkins Road closed at Lakehills Road near the Falling Creek Reservoir
Cogbill Road at Treetop Apartments
