TRANSPORTATION COMMISSIONER APPROVES TWO CENTRAL VIRGINIA CONTRACTS VALUED AT $1.8 MILLION
RICHMOND—Virginia Department of Transportation Commissioner David Ekern approved two contracts last week valued at approximately $1.8 million for central Virginia construction and maintenance.
McClain & Company, Inc. of Culpeper, Virginia was awarded a $1.4 million contract to retrofit and remove non-compliant catwalks from overhead sign structures. This work will be completed on all limited access highways and on various crossroads within VDOT’s Richmond and Fredericksburg districts. This project is expected to be completed by November 2007.
DLB, Inc. of Hillsville, Virginia was awarded a $407,000 contract to repair numerous pipes at various locations throughout the Richmond District. This project is expected to be completed by April 2007.
