TRANSPORTATION COMMISSIONER APPROVES 15 CENTRAL VIRGINIA CONTRACTS VALUED AT MORE THAN $16 MILLION

RICHMOND— Virginia Department of Transportation Commissioner David Ekern approved 15 contracts last week valued at more than $16 million for central Virginia construction and maintenance.

Kent & Sons, Inc. of Spotsylvania, Virginia was awarded a $1.6 million contract for road safety improvements to 1.28 miles of Squirrel Level Road (Rt. 613) between Rt. 673 and Rt. 672 in Dinwiddie County. At least one lane of traffic will be maintained at all times. In addition, the Rt. 741 intersection will receive two replacement culverts for improved drainage.
