SALEM – The Route 706 (Bells Mill Road) bridge over Elk Creek will close for repairs during daytime hours Monday-Wednesday, Oct. 4-6. Beginning each day at 8 a.m. and ending each day by 3 p.m., the bridge will be closed to through traffic. Motorists should use alternate routes.

The bridge is located about 0.2 mile north of Route 460 in the New London Area of Bedford County. Questions about the closure may be directed to the Virginia Department of Transportation’s Bedford Residency Office at (540) 586-7910.
