VDOT RESCHEDULES TONIGHT’S CITIZEN INFORMATION MEETING FOR ROUTE 687 IN HENRY COUNTY
Due to winter weather, the Virginia Department of Transportation has rescheduled a citizen information meeting on preliminary plans to improve a section of Route 687 (Preston Road) in Henry County. The meeting originally was scheduled for tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 3, from 6 to 8 p.m.
The meeting has been rescheduled for Tuesday, Feb.10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Preston Ruritan Building, located on Preston Road in Henry County. If inclement weather warrants school closing in Henry County on February 10, VDOT will reschedule the meeting again.
The purpose of this meeting is to give interested citizens an opportunity to review and discuss preliminary information for the proposed road improvements to Route 687 (Preston Road) in Henry County.
A formal presentation about the project will be made between 6 and 6:30 p.m. The remainder of the citizen information meeting will be held in an informal “open house” style. People may attend at their convenience. VDOT representatives will be present to explain the project and answer questions.
Interested citizens requiring special assistance to attend and participate in this meeting or needing additional information may call VDOT’s Martinsville Residency Office at (276) 629-2581. (TTD users, call 711.)
