TRAFFIC ALERT: ONE LANE OF NORTHBOUND INTERSTATE 81 WILL BE CLOSED FOR BRIDGE REPAIRS IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY
The left lane of northbound Interstate 81 will be closed beginning at 6:30 p.m. today at mile marker 128 in Montgomery County near the Ironto exit for bridge repairs. Work is expected to continue through the night and the left lane is expected to re-open at 6:30 a.m. on Thursday.
Workers will be pouring concrete at this location as part of the ongoing work on the bridges over the South Fork of the Roanoke River at mile marker 128. A long term work zone has been established and the speed limit has been reduced to 55 mph in this area. Motorists should use caution and expect delays in this area.
