VDOT IMPROVES PERFORMANCE WITH DELIVERING PROJECTS ON TIME AND ON BUDGET
RICHMOND - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) latest
quarterly report released today shows a growing trend in delivering more construction and maintenance projects on time and on budget.
“We continue to improve our performance by following three key principles - set goals, measure performance and be accountable,” said VDOT Commissioner Philip Shucet. “All lead to sustainable improvements.”
Construction contracts:
*On time means finishing a project on or before the original date what VDOT contracted for, no exceptions.
64% of contracts were completed within 90 days of the original completion date in 2004 compared with 53% in 2003.
Maintenance contracts:
