Design public hearing Tuesday (April 23) for Route 619 (Saint Peters Road) in Wythe County
Scheduled from 5 - 7 p.m. at Speedwell Elementary School

BRISTOL - The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a design public hearing Tuesday (April 23) to show plans for the proposed reconstruction of a 2.75-mile section of Route 619 (Saint Peters Road) in Wythe County.  The proposed project begins at Route 21 and extends to Route 707 (Fleming Road). 

The public hearing will be held Tuesday, April 23 from 5-7 p.m. at Speedwell Elementary School, 6820 Cedar Springs Road, Speedwell.

The purpose of the meeting is to give citizens an opportunity to review and discuss plans to reconstruct a 2.75-mile section of Route 619 (Saint Peters Road).  The project includes safety improvements such as straightening curves. 

VDOT encourages all interested citizens to attend the public hearing. To give citizens more flexibility in their participation, there will be no formal presentation. Instead, citizens will be able to review maps, drawings and other materials explaining the proposed project and discuss the plans with VDOT representatives at their convenience anytime between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Also, citizens will have an opportunity to record verbal comments for the official record anytime during the meeting. Written comments will be accepted during the meeting or may be submitted to VDOT by May 10, 2013.
