Public information meeting scheduled for Route 58 widening - Phase IV (Abingdon to Damascus)
Tuesday, December 12 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Damascus Middle School

BRISTOL – Next week, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will hold a public information meeting to give updates on the project to widen a 3-mile section of Route 58 between Abingdon and Damascus. The section to be widened is from near Route 708 (Rhea Valley Road) to just west of the West Corporate Limits of Damascus. 

The public information meeting will be held Tuesday, December 12 from 5-7 p.m. at Damascus Middle School, located at 32101 Government Road in Damascus.

The purpose of the meeting is to allow the community to come see updates to the approved roadway plans for the fourth and final phase of widening of Route 58 between Abingdon and Damascus.

Right of way acquisition is tentatively scheduled to begin Summer 2018, with construction to begin Spring 2021.

VDOT encourages all interested citizens to attend the public information meeting. To give citizens more flexibility in their participation, there will be no formal presentation.
