WARRENTON INTERCHANGE REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS RELEASED
Three shortlisted design-build teams will submit technical proposals by Nov. 30

CULPEPER — The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) announced that the Request for Proposals for the Warrenton interchange project has been issued to three shortlisted design-build teams.

The shortlisted teams are:

  • Allan Myers Inc. / KCI
  • Branch Civil Inc. / Whitman, Requardt & Associates (WRA)
  • Shirley Contracting Co. / Dewberry Inc.

The three offerors were selected from among nine that submitted statements of qualifications in response to the agency’s Request for Qualifications.

The anticipated schedule dates for responses to the RFP are Nov. 30 for the technical proposals and Jan. 11, 2018 for the price proposals. VDOT will evaluate the submissions and issue a Notice of Intent to Award on Jan. 23, 2018.

VDOT is advancing this project through the design-build contracting method, in which a contractor is selected to both complete the final design and construct the project.

The project involves constructing a grade-separated interchange south of Warrenton to improve safety and traffic flow at the intersection of Route 15/17/29 (Eastern Bypass), Route 15/17/29 Business and Route 880 (Lord Fairfax Drive) in Fauquier County.

More information about the $26.93 million Warrenton interchange project, funded through the SMART SCALE prioritization process, can be found on VDOT’s website.
