Lane closures expected to begin February 11 through March 4

FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will begin inspection  of the Robert O. Norris bridge on Monday, Feb. 4 and continue through the week of March 4.

During the first week crews will be inspecting the bridge piers and spans that can be accessed from the water.  There will be no lane closures associated with this phase of the inspection.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 11, motorists will be restricted to one lane on the bridge while the inspections continue.  Crews will work Monday – Friday, daylight to dusk each day.  The inspections are expected to be complete during the week of March 4.

Motorists should expect delays in the work zone.

The bridge is located on Route 3 over the Rappahannock River at White Stone.
