EXPECT EVENING DELAYS ON ROUTE 206 IN KING GEORGE
Emergency tree removal on Rt. 206 between Rt. 301 and Rt. 3 will require single-lane traffic through the evening rush hour with intermittent full stops
FREDERICKSBURG – Route 206 (Dahlgren Road) in King George County is reduced to a single travel lane on a section between Route 301 and Route 3 for an emergency tree removal.
The work zone is anticipated to remain in place through this evening’s rush hour.
Motorists are encouraged to seek alternate routes to avoid Route 206 between Route 301 and Route 3. The tree is located along Route 206 between Route 611 (Eden Drive) and Route 3.
Intermittent, complete traffic stops of up to 15 minutes will be needed periodically to safely remove the tree and protect motorists.
The operation requires coordination with utility providers. The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and its contractor will be removing a tree that is approximately 75 feet tall with a diameter greater than 74 inches.
