I-95 SOUTHBOUND LANE CLOSURES TONIGHT IN STAFFORD
Emergency bridge deck repair will be underway near Exit 133/Route 17

FREDERICKSBURG – Motorists traveling on southbound Interstate 95 in the Fredericksburg area tonight could experience brief delays while crews perform an emergency bridge deck repair near Exit 133/Route 17 in Stafford County.

Single or double lane closures will be in place on southbound I-95 at the Route 17 overpass at the following scheduled times:

• 9 p.m. Single lane closure
• 10 p.m. – 5 a.m.
Double lane closure

Additionally, single lane closures on Route 17 eastbound and westbound may be required underneath the bridge from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. overnight.

Crews will repair a 2 foot by 2 foot section of bridge deck in the right travel lane. Workers have temporarily repaired the damaged deck section with asphalt. Tonight, workers will remove the asphalt and replace it with concrete to make a permanent repair.
