UPDATE: I-95 RAMP PAVING AT RT. 3 MOVED TO JUNE 1
Ramp from Route 3 eastbound to Interstate 95 northbound in Fredericksburg will remain open tonight
FREDERICKSBURG – Paving scheduled for tonight at the on-ramp to Interstate 95 northbound from Route 3 eastbound in Fredericksburg has been cancelled.
The on-ramp will remain open to traffic tonight.
Work has been re-scheduled for the overnight hours of Wednesday, June 1. The on-ramp will close to all traffic from 10 p.m. Wednesday until 4 a.m. Thursday, June 2.
The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will pave the ramp with a type of asphalt designed to increase vehicle traction, especially when pavement is slick.
Law enforcement officials will provide traffic control at the scene.
Eastbound Route 3 motorists seeking to enter I-95 northbound will be directed to U-turn onto westbound Route 3 at Gateway Boulevard/Ramseur Street in Fredericksburg.
Once on westbound Route 3, motorists can access the northbound I-95 on-ramp from the westbound lanes.
High friction surface treatment will be applied to the ramp as a spot safety improvement to reduce vehicle skidding and crashes.
All other I-95 ramps at the Route 3 interchange will remain open during the work zone.
