EXPECT I-95 OVERNIGHT DELAYS IN STAFFORD, SPOTSYLVANIA
Multiple work zones will close lanes on I-95 northbound and southbound tonight into early Thursday for bridge repair, sign inspections and overhead sign installation

FREDERICKSBURG – Interstate 95 travelers in the Fredericksburg area should anticipate delays on I-95 northbound and southbound overnight as multiple work zones continue in Stafford and Spotsylvania counties.

The following lane closures are planned for this evening and early Thursday, weather permitting:

I-95 Southbound at Mile Marker 147, near Exit 148 (Quantico), Stafford County

  • Single lane closure at 9:30 p.m.
  • All lanes re-open by 6 a.m.

Crews are collecting soil samples in the vicinity of Exit 148 at Quantico for the I-95 Express Lanes Fredericksburg Extension project.

I-95 Southbound between Exit 136 (Centreport Parkway) and Exit 133 (Route 17), Stafford County

  • Mobile single lane closure at 10 p.m
  • All lanes re-open by 4:30 a.m.

Overhead sign inspections are underway between Exit 136 and Exit 133 in a mobile work zone.

I-95 Northbound and Southbound at Ni River Bridge, Mile Marker 121 (South of Exit 126/Spotsylvania)

  • I-95 northbound and southbound single lane closure at 9 p.m.
  • Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
  • All lanes re-open by 4:30 a.m.

Repairs continue to the I-95 northbound and southbound bridges over Ni River, which are among six interstate bridges being rehabilitated in the Fredericksburg area through fall 2018.

I-95 Northbound near Exit 143 (Route 610), Stafford County

  • Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
  • All lanes re-open by 4:30 a.m.

 Crews are installing overhead signs as part of the I-95 Express Lanes Southern Terminus Extension project.
