EXPECT OVERNIGHT DELAYS AT ROUTE 1, HARRISON ROAD IN SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY ON JAN. 15-16
Traffic signal installation will require lane closures with brief traffic stops at night on Sunday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 16

FREDERICKSBURG – Motorists may encounter overnight delays at the Route 1 and Route 620 (Harrison Road) intersection in Spotsylvania County on the evenings of Sunday, Jan. 15 and Monday, Jan. 16.

Crews are installing temporary traffic signal equipment as part of the construction project underway to build new turn lanes and improve the Route 1 and Harrison Road intersection. New signal equipment will be installed before the project’s completion in spring 2018.

Route 1 and Harrison Road will be periodically reduced to a single lane during a mobile work zone. Lane closures will occur between 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 15 and 5 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, and again from 8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16 until 5 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17.

Brief traffic stops, up to 15 minutes, may be needed between midnight and 2 a.m. each evening to perform work in the middle of the intersection.

Virginia State Police will assist with traffic control in the work zone.

Additional project information is available online at the project page on www.VirginiaDOT.org.
