EXPECT OVERNIGHT DELAYS ON I˗95 SOUTHBOUND THIS WEEK IN SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY
Beginning tonight, motorists can anticipate double lane closures on I-95 southbound between Tuesday, May 30 – Friday, June 2

FREDERICKSBURG  –  Motorists should anticipate overnight lane closures and travel delays this week on Interstate 95 southbound in Spotsylvania County beginning tonight through Friday, June 2.

Crews will continue work to the bridge over the Ni River, which requires double lane closures.

The Ni River bridge is located at mile marker 121, just south of Exit 126/Massaponax.

I-95 lanes will be closed on the following schedule, weather permitting:

Tuesday, May 30 ˗˗ Thursday, June 1

I-95 Southbound at mile marker 121 (Ni River Bridge) south of Exit 126 (Route 1/Massaponax)

  • Single lane closure at 9 p.m.
  • Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
  • All lanes will reopen by 7 a.m.

Friday, June 2

I-95 Southbound at mile marker 121 (Ni River Bridge) south of Exit 126 (Route 1/Massaponax)

  • Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
  • All lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m. Saturday, June 3

Message boards will warn travelers to stay alert to the work zone ahead and possible delays.

Motorists may consider Route 1 (Jefferson Davis Highway) as an alternate route.
