EXPECT OVERNIGHT TRAVEL DELAYS ON I-95 NEXT WEEK IN FREDERICKSBURG
Double lane closure planned for I-95 northbound, southbound at Fall Hill Avenue

FREDERICKSBURG – Motorists can anticipate overnight travel delays on Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg next week as crews install new guardrail at mile marker 131 (Fall Hill Avenue) as part of the Fall Hill Avenue widening and I-95 overpass replacement project.

Beginning Monday, Jan. 16 through Friday, Jan. 20, the following lane closures are planned:

Interstate 95 Northbound

On the evenings of Monday, Jan. 16 and Tuesday, Jan. 17, two lanes will be closed on I-95 northbound at mile marker 131 to allow crews to install new guardrail and remove temporary construction barriers.

  • 9 p.m. − Single I-95 lane closed
  • 10 p.m. – Two I-95 lanes closed
  • 4:30 a.m. – All lanes re-open

Interstate 95 Southbound

On the evenings of Wednesday, Jan. 18 and Thursday, Jan. 19, two lanes will be closed on I-95 southbound at mile marker 131 to allow crews to install guardrail and remove temporary construction barriers.

  • 9:30 p.m. − Single I-95 lane closed
  • 10 p.m. – Two I-95 lanes closed
  • 5 a.m. – All lanes re-open

Overhead message boards will warn travelers of the work zones and possible delays.
