Water and sewer line work will detour traffic to Lassen Lane from 3 a.m. Saturday, March 25 to 10 p.m. Sunday, March 26

FREDERICKSBURG – This weekend, Route 620 (Harrison Road) in Spotsylvania County will be closed to through traffic between Route 1 and Lafayette Boulevard to allow workers to relocate water and sewer lines.

Through traffic will not be permitted to travel on this section of Harrison Road from 3 a.m. Saturday, March 25 through 10 p.m. Sunday, March 26.

All lanes of Route 1 will remain open during the work zone. Harrison Road west of Route 1 will also remain open to traffic at all times.

Residents living on the closed portion of Harrison Road will be permitted to enter the work zone to access their driveways.

Signs will be posted to direct motorists to use Route 1324 (Lassen Lane) as the recommended detour route. Lassen Lane is located immediately south of Harrison Road, and it also connects Route 1 and Lafayette Boulevard.

Message boards will be posted on Route 1, Harrison Road and Lafayette Boulevard to notify drivers of the upcoming weekend detour.

Crews are relocating water and sewer lines as part of the construction project underway to build new turn lanes and improve the Route 1 and Harrison Road intersection. The project will be completed by spring 2018.
