VDOT bridge crew has completed a project to replace a structurally deficient bridge with a new structure over Wilson Creek

FREDERICKSBURG – Route 627 (Cunningham Lane) in Gloucester County has re-opened to traffic after a Virginia Department of Transportation bridge crew completed installation of a new bridge over Wilson Creek.

Built in 1963, the prior bridge was structurally deficient and was posted with a weight limit of 4 tons for all vehicles. The new bridge has no posted weight limit.

While the bridge has opened to traffic, crews will return to complete final paving work.
