NEW TRAFFIC PATTERN AHEAD AT ROUTE 610 AND ONVILLE ROAD
As construction concludes to expand intersection in Stafford County, motorists should be alert for new turn lanes and pavement markings

FREDERICKSBURG – Construction is concluding on a $14.9 million project to widen the intersection of Route 610 (Garrisonville Road) and Route 641 (Onville Road) in Stafford County to build additional turn lanes and reduce driver delays.

Over the next week, motorists should be alert for traffic pattern changes as new turn lanes open at the intersection. New pavement markings and signs will guide drivers.

Drivers will encounter nightly mobile lane closures between 8 p.m. and 5 a.m. as crews complete paving and pavement markings.

Weather permitting, all new turn lanes are anticipated to open by Wednesday, April 12.

The project is building double left turn lanes on eastbound Route 610 for traffic turning onto Onville Road. Triple left turn lanes are being built on Onville Road for traffic turning onto eastbound Route 610.

New pedestrian crossings are being installed on the north, west and south side of the intersection.

Approximately 44,000 vehicles a day travel through the intersection, according to 2015 traffic counts.
