NEW TRAFFIC SIGNAL TO BE ACTIVATED AT ROUTE 218 AND ROUTE 206 INTERSECTION IN KING GEORGE COUNTY
Signal will operate in flash mode starting tomorrow, Wednesday May 31 and will go into full operation on Friday, June 2

FREDERICKSBURG – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will activate a new traffic signal this week at the intersection of Route 218 (Caledon Road) and Route 206 (Dahlgren Road) in King George County.

The signal will first be placed in flash mode the morning of Wednesday, May 31 for 48 hours.

The signal will go into full operation at approximately 3 a.m. Friday, June 2.

The work is part of a project to improve two intersections in King George and Caroline counties.

VDOT crews are also working to upgrade the existing signal equipment at the intersection of Route 17 (Tidewater Trail) and Route 301 (A.P. Hill Boulevard) in Caroline County.  

The entire $1.1 million project is expected to be complete by fall 2017.
