OVERNIGHT WORK ZONES PLANNED ON I-95 NEXT WEEK IN STAFFORD AND SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTIES
Expect overnight delays with double lane closures beginning Monday, May 8 ˗˗ Friday, May 12

UPDATE: Work will continue on I-95 Northbound at Exit 133/Falmouth in Stafford County. There will be a double lane closure beginning at 9  p.m. tonight, May 10 till 4:30 a.m. Thursday, May 11. All lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m. Crews will continue to repair the joints to the I-95 overpass of Route 17.   Expect delays.

FREDERICKSBURG –  Motorists traveling on Interstate 95 near Fredericksburg will encounter lane closures and travel delays during the overnight hours beginning Monday, May 8 through Friday, May 12.

Crews will be continuing their work to improve the condition of the bridge over the Ni River in Spotsylvania County.  The Ni River bridge is located at mile marker 121 just south of Exit 126/Massaponax.

Crews will repair the joints to the I-95 overpass of Route 17 at Exit 133/Falmouth in Stafford County.

The following lane closures are planned, weather permitting:

Monday, May 8 ˗˗ Wednesday, May 10

I-95 Southbound at mile marker 121 (Ni River Bridge) south of Exit 126 (Massaponax)

  • Double lane closure at 9 p.m.
  • All lanes will reopen by 7 a.m.

Tuesday, May 9

I-95 Northbound at Exit 133 (Falmouth)

  • Double lane closure at 9 p.m.
  • All lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m.

Thursday, May 11

I-95 Southbound at mile marker 121 (Ni River Bridge) south of Exit 126 (Massaponax)

  • Double lane closure at 9:30 p.m.
  • All lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m.

Friday, May 12

I-95 Southbound at mile marker 121 (Ni River Bridge) south of Exit 126 (Massaponax)

  • Double lane closure at 10 p.m.
  • All lanes will reopen by 4:30 a.m.

Message boards will warn travelers to stay alert for work zones ahead and possible delays.

Motorists may consider using Route 1 as an alternate route.
