ROUTE 3 CLOSED IN SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY
Route 3 is closed in both directions between Single Oak Rd. and Cherry Rd. due to gas leak; Detour route is in place

FREDERICKSBURG – All lanes of Route 3 eastbound and westbound are closed in Spotsylvania County between Single Oak Road and Cherry Road due to a gas leak.

A detour is in place for eastbound and westbound traffic, and Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews are assisting with traffic control.

Westbound Route 3 motorists are using the following detour route:

  • Single Oak Road
  • Five Mile Road
  • Route 3

Eastbound Route 3 motorists are using the following detour route:

  • Kilarney Drive
  • MacNamara Drive
  • Cherry Road
  • Harrison Road
  • Salem Church Road
  • Route 3

If possible, motorists are encouraged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
