SHOULDER WIDENING PROJECT BEGINS IN PITTSYLVANIA CO.
LYNCHBURG-Starting April 1, weather permitting, motorists will see construction signs installed on the Route 29 Gretna Bypass for the shoulder widening project.
The project will run from Route F638, Squirrel Road to Route 665, Rockford School Road in the northbound lanes and from Route 665 to Route 992, Andrew Road in the southbound lanes. The widening will take place adjacent to the outside (travel lane) shoulder and then, will move to the inside (passing lane) shoulder.
Actual widening is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 6 and is expected to be finished by July 4, weather and other conditions permitting.
Appropriate traffic control devices will be in place to alert motorists to these activities.
