MOTORISTS MAY EXPERIENCE TRAFFIC DELAYS ON ROUTE 501
LYNCHBURG – Motorists should expect delays on Route 501 in the Town of Halifax next week while Dominion Power moves transformer from the railroad off-loading point at Sunshine Mills to the new Sedge Hill substation project.
Route 501 (South Main Street, North Main Street, and L. P. Bailey Highway) will have very slow moving traffic from its intersection with Route 1349 (Sunshine Drive) to Route 501 (L. P. Bailey Memorial Highway), 0.25 miles north of the Banister River Bridge on Monday April 18, 2016 and, again, on Wednesday, April 20, 2016.
The transports will take place between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. each day. The Banister River Bridge will be closed to through traffic while the transport is crossing the structure.
