Operations planned for motorist safety

LYNCHBURG —Safety is #1 with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and its contractors. For that reason, several ramps from US 29 and US 58 in Pittsylvania County will be temporarily closed during overnight hours while milling and paving operations take place. 

Work will take place beginning at 6 pm each scheduled evening and ending the following morning at 6 am.

Weather permitting, work on Route 58, between milepost 16.14 to milepost 16.31 and the ramp from Route 58 to Route 29 North will take place on Sunday night, August 28 and Monday night, August 29, ending on Tuesday morning, August 30.

On August 30 and August 31, work will take place on the Route 29 North ramps, between milepost 9.5 and milepost 10.48 to Route 41. On September 1, work will take place on Route 29, between milepost 3.62 and milepost 3.92, at the Route 29 Business ramp on the north side of Gretna

Signs and other traffic control devices will alert motorists to these temporary closures.
