TRAFFIC PATTERN TO CHANGE ON GREENVIEW DRIVE WIDENING PROJECT, LYNCHBURG

LYNCHBURG –Branch Civil, Inc., prime contractor on the Greenview Drive widening has announced that there will be changes in the traffic pattern on the project in the coming weeks and that message boards and other traffic control devices will alert motorists to those changes.

Currently, crews are working at the intersection of Hermitage Road and Greenview Drive and Hermitage Road is closed until early next week, weather permitting. Work is expected to take place between 7 am and 8 pm and a detour is available.

The changes in traffic patterns will occur with the traffic switch to the new section of roadway. The traffic switch will require flaggers and/or law enforcement while temporary signals are realigned with the new segment of road. There could be temporary closures of lanes or sections of roadway.

Motorists should expect delays and consider the use of alternate routes, including Greenview Drive to Timberlake Road to Waterlick Road to Leesville Road; and Airport Road to Rte. 460W to Leesville Road.

Current traffic information will be available by calling 511 or online at www.511virginia.org.
