Traffic switch to take place on Greenview Drive project

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Motorists should be alert to changes in traffic pattern on the Greenview Drive widening project in Lynchburg in early September.

Branch Civil, the prime contractor on the project, is anticipating a change in pattern on Thursday, September 7 on Greenview Drive, Airport Road and Leesville Road. In addition, a flagging operation will take place that evening while traffic signals are moved. The work is expected to be complete by Friday morning, September 8; however, all dates are subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

The change in traffic pattern is occurring as the start of Phase 3 of the project. During this phase, roadway medians will be constructed, as well as curb and gutter, sidewalk and entrances.

The project has experienced some delays and is now slated for completion in November 2017.
